It is undoubtedly one of the terraces with the most beautiful view of Toulouse. Located at the foot of the Saint Sernin basilicathe Triplette café offers a direct view of the bell tower and the stones of this emblematic building in Toulouse.

Behind this new address, we find Martin Dunglas and Pierre Pertenais (already partners in the management of the Piège à loups, rue des Tourneurs) as well as Naïm Bekkaoui. Together, they took over the former Sept, the restaurant run by Chef Guillaume Momboisse left to live new adventures near the Place de la Daurade.

“We did three months of work, explains Martin Dunglas. The places were very dark and minimalist, we wanted to add a little pep. »

Charm and authenticity

And the challenge is successful. The Triplette café lacks neither charm nor authenticity, notably with beautiful wooden tables from the Tarnmade to measure by craftsmen from Gaillac.

Warm places therefore to which the three partners want to give the soul of a neighborhood bistro. “Besides, we’ve had very good feedback from local residents,” explains Pierre Pertenais. Admittedly, Place Saint-Sernin attracts a lot of tourists: but precisely we want them to discover the spirit of Toulouse, authentic, with a beautiful view and friendly waiters! »

In the kitchen, it is the former chef of La Cendrée who officiates. And offers “seasonal cuisine without fuss, with good products, explains Naïm Bekkaoui. And everything is homemade! Here, we don’t have a microwave in the kitchen. »

A cuisine that can be enjoyed at lunchtime with a menu of the day starter-main course-dessert at 18 euros. Or with an à la carte offer, with five different starters, five main courses and five desserts. And also fine bistro classics, such as cassoulet, rump steak or T-Bone.

Tapas, party and pétanque

In the evening, the Café Triplette goes into tapas mode, with beautiful plates to share. “And inside, the atmosphere becomes more festive: we put on the music and everyone dances!“, details Martin Dunglas.

The Café Triplette can also be discovered throughout the day, for a drink at the foot of the basilica. A little extra: you can even borrow balls to play pétanque on the grounds right next door.
