Mory Sacko was not even 30 when he won his first Michelin star last year. And since then, we have not stopped this chef revealed to the general public thanks to his passage in the 11e edition of “Top Chef”. “L’Obs” thus met him between the filming of the last episode of the season of “Open Kitchen”, the program he hosts every week on France 3, and the opening of the new Louis Vuitton restaurant, in Saint -Tropez, whose card he signed.
Pure product of his time, the young man decided not to choose between his French culture, his African origins and his passion for Japan – but to combine them on the plate. Seated at MoSuke, his restaurant at 14e Parisian district – named in honor of Yasuke, this former African slave who became a samurai – he immersed himself with undisguised pleasure in his childhood memories. And if nothing predestined him to enter the world of luxury and Parisian palaces, which he discovered ” by chance “ on television, it is nevertheless during meals shared with the family that his taste for well-done cooking was born.
