The gendarmerie decorated the dog Jazz for his entire career with the Caen dog brigade

For Sainte-Geneviève, Thierry Mosimann, prefect of Calvados, General Gauffeny, commander of the Normandy gendarmerie and Colonel Junqua, commander of the Calvados gendarmerie group presented medals and awards on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 during a ceremony on the forecourt of the town hall of Caen. Jazz, the dog of the canine brigade of Caen, was also decorated.

Jazz, a Saint-Hubert, is part of the canine group of the Caen gendarmerie alongside his handler-dog leader of the canine group.  He was awarded for his entire career.

The dog Jazz was medalist

On this occasion, the gendarmerie dog, Jazz, an 8-year-old Saint-Hubert, received the National Defense bronze medal. He is one of the five dogs of the canine brigade of Caen.

In pairs with their dog handlers, they work with all the investigators of the Normandy Gendarmerie. He will retire in January 2023 and he has been awarded for the whole of his career. From 2016 to 2022, he carried out 400 interventions and made it possible to find around twenty people, including one who had been missing for six days and was found in a wood in the Nantes region, in July 2022.
