Star of arbitration, partner of the former Keeper of the Seals Dominique Perben, the business lawyer Jean-Georges Betto is referred, on October 20, before the 31e chamber of the Paris Criminal Court, according to information from Mediapart.
This dismissal comes at the end of an investigation for “sexual harassment” and “morale” that the Paris prosecutor’s office had opened in March 2020. The lawyer is accused of having harassed several members of his cabinet between 2012 and 2017, in particular former collaborators or interns. Asked by Mediapart, Jean-Georges Betto – who benefits from the presumption of innocence – did not respond. Contacted, his lawyer, Hervé Temime, told us that he did not wish to comment.
In the disciplinary investigation which targeted him in parallel with these criminal proceedings, Jean-Georges Betto disputed some of the charges, but he also tried to minimize certain facts, pleading humor “schoolboy” and a management “paternalistic” – intended, according to him, to create a relaxed atmosphere and to “desecrate the boss”.
