Sekou Doumbouya to the G-League

While he only played 11 matches in the United States last season, Sekou Doumbouya (2.03 m, 21 years old) intends to pursue his American dream, via the G-League.

There will be no return to Europe for Sekou Doumbouya. At least not imminently as the former Limougeaud is now linked to Philadelphia’s G-League franchise, the Delaware Blue Coats. According to Philadelphia Inquirerthe Sixers signed him and then cut him in stride, a move allowing them to hold his rights in the G-League.

Drafted in 15th position during the 2019 Draft, the Franco-Guinean winger has so far never justified his status as a leading prospect. After an average stint with weak Pistons (5.6 points and 2.8 rebounds in 94 games), he has since multiplied short contracts with the Nets, the Rockets and finally the Lakers, with whom he has only played 2 matches in the Big League last season, before being cut. The former federal center will therefore have the right to a new chance.
