Buitoni pizzas aren’t the only ones prone to contamination. Traces of a bacterium were found in them… The brand strongly advises consumers not to eat them.
In early 2022, batches of Buitoni pizzas were recalled. The reason ? These were contaminated with a dangerous bacterium. Result of the races: many sick people, including children, and 2 deaths declared. What worries consumers, in short, who are increasingly vigilant when it comes to processed products. Indeed, Buitoni is not the only brand to have to deal with these food scandals. Thus, a completely different brand of pizzas is in the crosshairs of the Directorate General for Competition, Consumption and the Repression of Fraud. This, to avoid food poisoning as much as possible… It is therefore a new brand that is added to the list.
Product recall: 3 batches of pizzas contaminated with bacteria
This Thursday, October 27, Rappel Conso launched the alert on a batch of 3 pizzas that came to certain supermarkets. These are pizzas from the Préparé Par Nos Pros (PNPP) brand. This concerns three ranges of the brand. Namely, the ham/mushroom, ham and Hawaiian preparation. These pizza went on sale between October 21 and 26, 2022, in Match supermarkets, and more specifically in the Hauts-de-France and Grand-Est regions. The cause of this contamination: a bacterium. According to Rappel Conso, it could be Listeria Monocytogene, which causes listeriosis… Of course, certain sections of the population are more at risk of this bacterium than others.
A scandal that is reminiscent of that of Buitoni
This case is reminiscent of the scandal surrounding the Fraîch’Up pizza range from Buitoni. The products contained a dangerous bacterium: E.coli, identified in the flours intended for these preparations. The whistleblower also insists that the elderly, as well as immunocompromised people, are more at risk. The latter must, in any case, be twice as vigilant. Still, they represent a risk to everyone’s health. This therefore does not exempt the rest of the French from paying attention as well. It is therefore highly recommended to get rid of these pizzas. You can also ask for a refund or an exchange to compensate you. But beware, the product recall procedure will end on November 9, 2022. In the event of symptoms (fever, headache, body aches), you must urgently consult a doctor.
