Farmer kills stray dogs in self-defense
Paul Payet is a breeder from the Plaine des Cafres. This weekend, more than six deer and a deer were killed by stray dogs. He therefore decides himself to kill these dogs to avoid new attacks.
Dominique Clain, president of the union ‘Unis Pour Nos Agriculteurs’ was on hand to denounce the lack of solution to the attacks of stray dogs on farms: “We can’t go on like this anymore. It’s still the same thing. The authorities have to react. If these dogs are able to kill animals like that, they can very well attack men one day. We’re not going to wait for a child to die to react”he explains.
Attacks for several years
In 2017, Paul Payet lost a hundred animals following attacks by stray dogs.
In 2018, he slaughtered more than 50 stray dogs in self-defense. The “One Voice” association, against animal violence, had filed a complaint against him. The breeder was heard by the gendarmes.
