Mayor Patrick Le Diffon had warned. The works carried out as part of the redevelopment of the city center of Ploermel (Morbihan) were not going to be without consequence for the restaurateurs installed on the Place d’Armes.

When taking stock of the progress of the construction site, the mayor of the ducal city had indicated that work related to sanitation was going to be carried out at the level of the Place d’Armes.

For the successful completion of this operation, facilitating access to existing networks was necessary. “We are going to heckle the terraces of the shops a little bit, because networks pass underneath”, explained Patrick Le Diffon at the time.

A big void in front of the Café de la Tour

At the dawn of the arrival of the construction machinery, the restaurateurs concerned like the Café de la Tour, the caterer/restaurateur Terre de sens and Le Rond de napkin dismantled their terraces.

The imposing terrace with a hundred seats installed in front of the Café de la Tour has thus been removed, leaving a great void.

Aware of the consequences that this has for restaurateurs, Patrick Le Diffon nevertheless specifies that carrying out the work at this time of year “will make it possible to limit the losses caused by traders. »
