Fancy a good piece of meat but are you lazy to cook? To Rouen, Meaty is here to save you. This new concept launched in August 2022 allows you to order a good meat dish to enjoy at home.

The first step towards a food court?

Behind Viandard, we find Ephraim and Clément, already at the origin of the restaurant M. Patachon, opened less than a year ago on the left bank. They then offer “revisited French street food”.

A spirit that appeals to them and that they want to develop. “Lately, we have been traveling quite a bit to Lille and Paris in particular, and we have fallen in love with food courts,” explains Ephraim.

A food court, for those who don’t know, is a place where several catering brands come together to offer a diverse offer to customers. Do you want a burger and your friends want sushi? In some food courts, both desires can be found.

Good cuts of meat to take away

Seduced by the concept, Ephraim and his partner therefore aspire to open one in Rouen. But they are getting there little by little.

Thus was born the idea of Viandard. “We said to ourselves ‘why not open a counter in Rouen that offers good cuts of meat?’. We love it, we love barbecues and many in Rouen can’t do it. »

The duo has therefore worked with its suppliers (at most local) to offer beautiful pieces of meat and chicken, to cook for customers.

Since mid-August, it is therefore now possible to order from Viandard, via Deliveroo or Uber Eats, or to be served directly at the counter, at 7 rue Hélène-Boucher (it can not be invented!), two not from the place des Chartreux. An establishment in this sector to “boost the left bank, which has fewer food concepts than the right bank”.

On the menu, obviously beef, marinated and breaded chicken, duck, “depending on availability because it’s difficult at the moment”, and soon pork. All served with a salad or fries and accompanied by a sauce (choice of pepper, roquefort or chimichurri).

The poutines are coming

Ephraim and Clément do not intend to stop there, however. “As of September, we will be offering Mr. Patachon’s dishes. And during November-December, we will offer a French poutine,” announces Ephraim. Subsequently, the idea of a larger food court with a seated area is not excluded.

Viandard is open Tuesday to Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
