Each week, the Salut Bonjour team highlights adorable animals, all rescued by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Montreal (SPCA). These adorable little beasts have one thing in common: they are looking for a family, capable of providing them with the appropriate care and offering them love at will.
For more than 150 years, the mission of the Montreal SPCA has been to protect animals against negligence, abuse and exploitation, to represent their interests and ensure their well-being, to promote public awareness and sensitivity to regard to them.
On average, cats have to wait 7 days and dogs 10 days before being welcomed by a new family. If a large majority of them find a home quickly, this is not the case for all. Some, because of their age, race or temperament, are forced to stay longer.
The organization does not discriminate: in addition to four-legged animals, it receives birds, rats, turtles or rodents. This week, the Montreal SPCA is looking for a new family for this adorable animal!
Larry, the most zen of cats, is looking for a family!
The Montreal SPCA currently has many cats waiting for adoption. Unlike kittens, who are adopted quickly, older residents sometimes need a helping hand to find a home that suits them. By adopting an elderly animal from the Montreal SPCA, you are of course giving it a second chance, but your good deed has another advantage. In fact, “experienced” cats are very endearing, know how to relax and take great naps in the afternoon while you go about your business! Yes, even though they need exercise and like to play, older animals are generally calmer than young ones.
Among the animals looking for a family is the endearing 10-year-old Larry, who is sure to melt your heart. This zen cat dreams of lounging on your lap while you watch your favorite TV shows. If you work from home, Larry will sit by your computer to keep you company – an ideal co-worker!
Very sociable, he will rush to the door to greet you when you come home. Moreover, your guests will also be very well received by Larry, since he is not at all fearful! Already have a cat at home? No problem! Larry gets along well with his peers, as long as they respect his tranquility.
In short, this majestic tomcat is easygoing and has a dream personality. He even loves being brushed! Suffering from diabetes, Larry is looking for a caring family willing to give him a twice-daily injection to control his disease. Be aware, however, that the situation is perfectly manageable, because this exceptional cat accepts bites without complaining. He must also consume special food and be monitored by a veterinarian, who will ensure that he is doing well. In order to facilitate its adoption, the Montreal SPCA absorbs the usual adoption fees: agreeing to take care of a diabetic cat is already a very generous gesture.
Larry enjoys an excellent quality of life, but he will need to lose some weight. He is sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped, and has benefited from dentistry at the Montreal SPCA.
All he needs now is a loving family to care for him; he deserves it so much! Do you have a little place at home for this handsome guy? Larry will be eternally grateful to you!
