Mater Avocats, the new firm specializing in the circular economy

Created at the instigation of Juliette Roquette and Ambre Perrochaud, lawyers at the Paris Bar, Mater Avocats is an independent firm that brings together lawyers who share the same objective: to democratize, promote and secure the transition of companies towards a circular economy, to sustainable performance and a sustainable future.

Making the law of the circular economy accessible in order to offer economic and institutional players innovative, relevant and adapted solutions, this is the mission that Juliette Roquette and Ambre Perrochaud set themselves through the creation of the Mater Avocats firm.

Juliette Roquette and Ambre Perrochaud engage with economic players to support them on French and European regulatory or compliance issues relating to the life cycle of products and resources (eco-design, rights and obligations of the producer, EPR sectors, freedom of traffic, etc.) as well as waste management (qualification, transfer, exit from status, compliance process, responsibilities, etc.).

With a distinctive sectoral positioning, Mater Avocats offers innovative and operational solutions developed specifically for the circular economy: preservation of resources, reduction of waste, reuse, recycling or recovery of materials.

In concrete terms, Mater Avocats advises companies and supports them in managing their risks, in pre-litigation and in litigation. Whether companies, associations or professional federations, Ambre et Juliette intervene from their structuring (choice of corporate form, drafting of statutes, governance and CSR reporting, extra-financial reporting, etc.) and assist them throughout their growth or transformation (financing of circular projects, green bonds, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, etc.).

For the co-founders of Mater Avocats, “players in the circular economy are confronted with very often specific operational, contractual and financing challenges, in a paradoxical context of proliferation and regulatory uncertainty. This is why we wanted to develop a range of legal services dedicated to this ecosystem. Our ambition: to help normalize the circular economy”.

About Juliette Roquette

Juliette Roquette co-founded the firm Mater Avocats, in order to provide the firm’s clients with her legal expertise and her passion for materials and circular models.

Juliette Roquette began her legal career in 2014 as a corporate and litigation lawyer for 5 years at Bredin Prat, where she handled complex high-stakes cases for a wide variety of players. She then turned to environmental protection through professional experience in NGOs and companies. Convinced that relevant legal advice requires a detailed understanding of strategic and operational businesses and issues, Juliette Roquette approaches cases with passion, high standards and pragmatism. It mobilizes its ability to adapt, its European openness, and a holistic vision of the universe of large groups, SMEs/startups and associations to serve its clients.

Lawyer at the Paris Bar since 2014, Juliette Roquette is a graduate of the University of Paris II Panthéon-Assas (DJCE, 2012), and of the University of Oxford (MJur, 2011). She works in French and English.
