La Vela is the name of the new Italian restaurant that smells of the Mediterranean in Boulogne-Billancourt, at the gates of Paris. A superb setting, delicious Pinsas Romana and ultra-gourmet fresh pasta, this is a program that promises.
Leader Giuseppe Caruso put down his suitcases Boulogne and awaits you to delight you with its Sicilian dishes. Calling all cooking fans Italian, always looking for the right address to treat yourself to good fresh al dente and generous pasta, here is a new address that should tempt you.
Upon arrival, the storefront elegant, but not very wide, suggests that the restaurant is rather small, but not at all. Open the door to this place which is revealed in length and depth. In two parts, separated by a central barwe discover on one side a rather subdued space and on the other a pretty bright room under canopy with a screen simulating a fire chimney for the cozy side.
Velvet chairs, printed classy and floralsuperb golden chandeliers in the shape of leaves, we are seduced by the welcoming setting.
card side, The Vela unveils platters of fine cold meats and cheeses to share and antipasto greedy. We let ourselves be seduced on our side by the Fried squid with homemade tartar sauce and with Pinsas Romana to share. If you don’t know what a pinsa is, it’s a reinterpretation of an ancient recipe that dates back to ancient Rome.
Originally, peasants used a mixture of millet, barley and spelled, with added salt and dried herbs, to make this stretched flatbread which takes its name from the Latin “pinsere”. Nowadays, its recipe has evolved and we find it based on wheat flour, rice and soy. Such a pizza, this mixture gives a super crispy, light and elastic dough for an incomparable chew, we love it. Be careful, the Pinsa Romana de La Vela is generous but let’s face it, it can be swallowed up without difficulty. We enjoyed the version Trieste with Mozzarella, gorgonzola, pear and walnuts andEsquilino which combines stracciatella, dried beef carpaccio, arugula and parmesan shavings.
To accompany all this, the restaurant offers us a beautiful wine card. The selection is yours of italian wines and French wines. From Chianti from Barolo to Nebbiolo, all the greatest grape varieties are on the menu. As for cocktails, we savor the classics as we like.
no good Italian restaurant without good fresh pasta. At La Vela, we offer you lasagna with beef stew or truffleof the risotto with mushrooms or zucchini and gnocchi with tomato sauce, basil and Mozzarella. On our side, we fall for the house specialty, pasta The Vela which consist of linguine with truffles and pistachio cream from Bronte, served with Prawns. We also like the fillet of sea bream with capers which will go wonderfully with the beautiful generous and colorful ratatouille.
We end gently with the desserts from the moment. To us the gourmet coffee all foam and panna cotta and the cheesecake Soft.
And if we offer ourselves a Italian restaurant from the greediest to Boulogne ?
