Food Society: a giant 3,500 m2 food court opens in the heart of Paris

A 3500 m2 food court has just opened in Paris. There are about fifteen street food stands there for all tastes.

It is the largest food court in Europe. Food Society has just opened its doors in the Gaîté district near Montparnasse station. And the menu is dizzying: 15 restaurants, two bars, nearly 600 seats… All in 3,500 square meters open seven days a week, from morning to evening.

Designed as an “organic maze”, it takes a bit of patience to find your way through the rough cement countertops. But maps are there to guide hungry visitors.

Adrien Cachot and Mory Sacko

To feast, there is the embarrassment of the choice. Well-known chefs who have worked for Top Chef have been called in to help. Thus Adrien Cachot offers well seasoned tapas in a “monobar”: pig’s ear with romesco sauce, grilled octopus with virgin sauce. A little further on, star chef Mory Sacko puts poultry in the spotlight with Mojo (chicken wings, grilled leg with mafé sauce). Fabrizio Ferrara of Osteria Ferrara, well known to lovers of Italian gastronomy, has imagined a trattoria with simple and effective recipes.

Food Society is also names familiar to Parisian gourmets such as Blend, Krugen or Yemma. For dessert, head to the Fou de Pâtisserie stand, which brings together the creations of the greatest chefs. Finally, a 16th mystery spot is due to open shortly, we just know that “its cuisine breathes Indian summer”.

The QR code purchase system was chosen to avoid long queues.

In addition to its gourmet offer, Food Society has another ambition. In the center of the forum, a stage will host events such as concerts or conferences. “Food Society gives food, thought and dance!” explains the press release announcing the launch.

Behind this impressive project, we find Virginie Godard already at the origin of Food Society Lyon La Part-Dieu opened in June 2021 but also of the Food market in Belleville. It is launching alongside a few major partners: Sidel, Unibail Rodamco Westfield and the Moma group.

Food Society, 68, avenue du Maine, Paris 14th (Open Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 a.m., Sunday, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.).
