England crush South Africa, Canada win against USA

England, the first nation in the world and the big favorite of the Women’s Rugby World Cup, crushed South Africa (75-0) on Sunday, at Waitakere stadium in Auckland, in the last match of Pool C, including she finished in the lead, ahead of Les Bleues. The “Red Roses”, qualified for the quarter-finals on the second day of the competition, passed thirteen tries to the South Africans, including two hat-tricks from second row Rosie Galligan and hooker Connie Powell. The Canadian women’s rugby team meanwhile recorded a third victory in as many group matches, defeating the United States 29-14 at the World Cup in New Zealand. The Canadians won with the offensive bonus point by scoring five tries through Tuttosi, Tessier, Farries, DeMerchant and Nelson. They thus won their ticket for the quarter-finals of the competition by finishing at the top of the Group B standings, thanks to a differential of plus 61 points. In the other match, the Italians got the better of the Japanese (8-21).
