Dupond-Moretti sent back to trial, his lawyers appeal

It’s official. Suspected of having taken advantage of his position to settle accounts with magistrates whom he had opposed when he was a lawyer, the Court of Justice of the Republic ordered on Monday the organization of a trial against Eric Dupond- Moretti. “We immediately filed an appeal in cassation against this judgment,” said his lawyers.

The Court of Justice of the Republic (CJR) on Monday ordered a trial against Eric Dupond-Moretti, accused of having taken advantage of his position to settle accounts with magistrates whom he had opposed when he was a lawyer, announced his advice on Monday. “As unfortunately we expected it, it is a judgment of dismissal which was rendered by the commission of the instruction (note: of the CJR). We immediately lodged an appeal in cassation against this judgment. This judgment does not no longer exists”, announced Me Christophe Ingrain and Rémi Lorrain at the exit of the CJR, in Paris, in the absence of Eric Dupond-Moretti.
