U Bio brand frozen pomegranates are the subject of a product recall. The latter would contain too high a level of pesticides. Remember to check your freezer!

The days go by and product recalls are again and again in the spotlight. After jams, compotes, tomato sauces or even goat’s cheese logs, it’s the turn of frozen fruit to be called back urgently.

This Monday, September 19, the distributor Magasins U has just sounded the alarm on frozen pomegranates under its U Bio brand, due to the excessive presence of pesticides.

Which products are affected?

Latest news

The recall concerns U Bio frozen pomegranates 450 gr sold in all U stores in France. The reason for their recall: a non-compliant analysis for pesticides.

The distributor informs that the product has a “exceeding the authorized limits of pesticides”, more particularly “cyhexatin and azocyclotin”.

The batch concerned is the following:

  • GTIN 3256228421241, Lot 35402, Best before date 31/01/2024

What if you have it at home?

If you have these frozen pomegranates in your freezer, the Conso Reminder website (the government site which lists all the recalls of finished products intended for consumers) advises to don’t eat themto destroy the bag and contact consumer service in order to get a refund.
