A new roaster is now present on the market Cherbourg-en-Cotentin (Sleeve). At the head of this rotisserie, we find Frank Godey. He has started his career in the restaurant business and did his apprenticeship at the restaurant Le Plouc, in Cherbourg, in 1988. After his military service, he left to work in Paris, notably at Fauchon, a benchmark in the restaurant industry. He then moved to other Parisian restaurants such as “Chez Maxime”, “Le Méridien”, “Le Clos Longchamps” and notably worked with Philippe Etchebest.

A dream come true

Today, Franck Godey has chosen to work while roaming, in the markets. A dream he had for many, many years.

“I always wanted to be a showman. I understand them. This spirit of itinerancy appeals to me very much. As itinerant, you create visibility in a short time. »

Franck has decided to manage his traveling rotisserie like a restaurant kitchen. A precise organization from his stand, a lot of rigor. But also a unique work uniform, all in black, for him and his employees. The Cotentin rotisserie is thus easily recognizable on the market.

Local products in the spotlight

In barely two months, the Cotentin rotisserie has already built up a good reputation with market regulars. This is partly due to the friendliness of the team, but also to the good products offered there.

“I have a great knowledge of local producers and artisans. We find the sausages of Jérôme Revel. The lambs of Gérard Briard, in Saint-Jacques-de Néhou, which I met thanks to Laurent Henry, a butcher friend. The preparations are made in the old butchery of La Glacerie which I took over. »

Every week, the Cotentin rotisserie also offers different vegetables. “It was a request from customers,” says Franck Godey. “Some of my vegetables come from Olivier Le Touzé, in Tourlaville. »

The Cotentin rotisserie can also prepare a good sandwich for the lunch break. “Me, I don’t make sandwiches, I cook in bread”, underlines Franck, quoting this sentence from the famous cook Thierry Marx. However, the Cotentin rotisserie does not offer drinks. “I don’t want to compete with the bistros that are just nearby. »

As roasters, Franck and his entire team are also available for any private event and other cultural or sporting events.
