Tracy Mansell is the owner of an 8-year-old feline named Billy. One day, Tracy heard Billy crying in pain in the garden and saw him walking with difficulty. She approached, but the cat wouldn’t let her touch him. Only the husband of Tracy managed to catch Billywho was less hostile towards him.
Billy’s family contacted on-call vets
Billy was in great pain. Somehow he had been injured and then painfully dragged himself home for help. “It was absolutely heartbreaking to see him in this state, I was very worried“, told Tracyin words reported by Express & Star. “I knew Billy needed to see a vet urgently so I called PDSA and the team directed me to the charity’s sitter service in Oldbury”.
According to the vet, Billy had been hit by a vehicle
Fortunately, Billy was quickly taken care of by the doctors. Painkillers were administered to him, then he received general anesthesia in order to undergo an x-ray.
The results revealed a broken pelvis, in addition to a major wound in the leg.

“Billy’s injuries were consistent with a traffic accident”explained the veterinarian. “He needed pain relief and round-the-clock care, so he was hospitalized for another three nights”.
Furthermore, injuries to Billy prevented him from urinating properly. The doctor wanted this to be restored as well by the time the feline returned home.

Thanks to good veterinary treatments, Billy was then able to rejoin his family, with a strict rest instruction for 3 weeks. Tracy was very relieved to find him, and grateful to the medical team. “When he was away it was like part of the family was gone“, she confided.
