This case revealed by our colleagues from Ouest France was brought to light by the association Les Paniers du cœur, based in Argentan. According to the daily, the volunteers were alerted by a resident of a former dog farm who had just discovered a mass grave. Inside the rented accommodation in Irai (Orne), several corpses are strewn on the ground.
The association very quickly found the name of the breeder, now based in Rouperroux, still in the Orne. She discovers that on several occasions the man has been visited by the police because of his more than random management of his breeding.
surge of hatred
While last June an investigation continuing today was opened by the gendarmerie, the daughter of the owner of the house in Irai published the photos of this macabre discovery. Social networks are packed, with an outpouring of hatred, so much so that another breeder in business with the respondent wants to solve the problem himself.
He moves to his colleague, supervised by the mayor of Rouperroux, but the meeting takes place in peace. The altercation, however desired by some excited of the web, will not take place. The breeder finally agrees to let his dogs go to an association in St-Nicolas-de-Sommaire, near L’Aigle.
Multiple offenses possible
Ouest France relayed the words of the boss of the Orne gendarmerie, Colonel Pierre Benech, explaining that “the prosecution will decide on the follow-up to be given to the case. But he (the breeder) can be prosecuted for several offenses, including abuse and acts of cruelty committed on domestic animals”. The Baskets of the Heart and the SPA of Paris have decided to file a complaint.
Finally, several breeders will be heard and could be civil parties.
