Friday night was the first day of the ninth leg of the FIBA Women’s 3×3 Series. In Quebec (Canada), Les Bleues finished third in their pool and will face the United States in the quarter-finals (5:35 p.m.).
A costly loss. In a very tough group with Germany, Lithuania and Düsseldorf, the French 3×3 team fell from the start against the Lithuanians. Laëtitia Guapo and her partners did not measure up. Not very skilful (10/31) and jostled on the rebound (20 to 12), they logically bow (19-13).
The blue world champions raise their heads against Düsseldorf (19-14) and Germany (21-14). But with three teams to two wins, it all came down to the difference in runs scored. As a result, France ranks third and will have to go through the quarter-final box, only the first team of its group qualifying directly for the semi-finals. Les Bleues will face a big piece, the United States, second in Pool B. If they win, they will meet Germany in the semi-finals (6:35 p.m.). To be continued on the FIBA 3×3 website.
